as soloist in all continents of the world and has become recognized as
one of the most important flautists of his generation. He has appeared
as concerto soloist with many orchestras including the London

the Fields. Most recently he has performed Mozart’s Concert for
flute and harp with Marisa Robles and the London Mozart Players and toured

recently he recorded Bach’s keyboard arrangement of his Brandenburg
Concerto nr 4 with Murray Perahia and a Grammy nomitated disc of Bliss
chamber music with the Magini String Quartet. Michael Cox has taken part
in many first performances and worked with

A love of chamber music has led to appearances alongside such artists
as James Galway, Emma Kirkby, Pascal Roge, Natalie Klein and Nicholas
Daniel.
Michael Cox is professor of
flute at the Royal Academy of Music and visiting consultant at the Royal
Northern College of Music. He has given master-classes internationally

flutes made by the “Stradivarius” of flute makers Louis Lot
in around 1865.
