Contrasts
We start our new series of lunchtime concerts at
Birmingham enjoying the acoustic of the newly refurbished Town Hall. Our
co-leader, Thomas Gould, Joy Farrall and Huw Watkins perform a programme
of twentieth century works, featuring a piece by Michael Zev Gordon that
was premièred by Britten Sinfonia last season. Huw Watkins doubles
as performer and composer with a piece titled 'Dream'. Bartok's chamber
work Contrasts, commissioned and originally performed by Benny Goodman
and Szigeti, is a rhythmically demanding and exhilarating end to the concert.
Tickets
£7.50 unreserved seating
Concessions
£5 for students, unwaged, U16s and over 60's.
