Britten Sinfonia at Lunch in Krakow

Philharmonic Hall, Zwierzyniecka Street 1, 31-103 Krakow, Poland

Szczególy w jezyku polskim

As part of a cultural exchange, linking Malopolska and the East of England, Britten Sinfonia is to perform a series of lunchtime concerts at the Philharmonic Hall in Krakow.

Each concert features a new work by a composer, alongside complementary chamber works by composers as diverse as Purcell and Berio. Now in our third season of concerts in Krakow the lunchtime series takes a new turn. Four of Britain’s finest composers, Thomas Adès, Oliver Knussen, Colin Matthews and John Woolrich, have been invited to choose programmes featuring major works from the classical chamber music repertoire alongside a chosen work from their own output. Uniquely, they have each nominated a young composer who has been specially commissioned to write a new work for each concert in the series.

Britten Sinfonia at Lunch in Krakow is funded and supported by Escalator, Advisory Group Test Human Resources, British Council, Bright Art Interbusiness Group and South Poland Business Link.
